This morning at 9:30 AM, the Nanfang'ao bridge in Su'ao Township, Yilan County collapsed. Initial reports say at least 20 people were injured in the collapse. Rescue services have been dispatched and the scene is currently under control. The bridge was built in 1998 and completed in 1999. It was only 21 years old. It was the only steel arch bridge in Taiwan. Several fishing boats were caught under the bridge in the accident, and an oil tanker that was on the bridge fell while crossing. Update: 6
