Thousands of Walmart customers across the U.S. were affected when the retailer’s app and website suffered a widespread outage on.

Customers of mega-retailer Walmart on Tuesday complained of an outage that left thousands unable to access its mobile app and website. The Wall Street Journal reported that more than 6,500 users reported outages around 7 a.m. Tracking site Downdetector picked up the outage, while three-fourths of users reported problems with the mobile app.

Walmart gave Snopes a possible explanation for a customer being sent an email about a product he purchased with cash.
