Waymo service expanded to San Jose, including first commercial airport service in California
Autonomous robotaxi company Waymo announced it has expanded to San Jose and is offering curbside service to San Jose Mineta International Airport, the first airport in California to feature the driverless rides.
A select group of riders can now book rides from San Francisco to San Jose, including curbside service at San Jose Mineta International Airport (SJC).
Waymo said it will begin offering highway trips across the San Francisco Bay Area, Phoenix and Los Angeles when it will be “meaningfully faster” than alternate routes. To start, freeway driving will only be available for riders who opt in to the service through Waymo’s app.
